Pique-Nique

Mandate:

Pique-Nique is an organization that brings together artists in contemporary art. Since 2001, Pique-Nique has been organizing, participating in and collaborating on events, as well as dissemination projects. In a nutshell, Pique-Nique is in situ.

Pique-Nique activities are defined by reaffirming the social character of common space by promoting the spontaneous intrusion of art into the public context. Consequently, Pique-Nique invests a place and transforms it into a space for creation, dissemination and discussion.

Different in situ proposals take an amused and acidic look at the place to be invested. Picnic does not promote any form of expression or discourse except perhaps that of the incongruous, challenging and surprising. The artists of Pique-Nique are united through the desire to confront the fruit of their efforts with the reality of public or common spaces.
